Di Minggu Advent kedua ini, kita menyalakan Lilin Damai — tanda bahwa Yesus hadir untuk menenangkan setiap kegaduhan hidup kita. Yohanes Pembaptis tampil dengan seruan tegas: “Bertobatlah, sebab Kerajaan Surga sudah dekat!” (Mat 3:2) Damai sejati tidak lahir dari hilangnya masalah, tetapi dari hati yang kembali lurus kepada Tuhan. Karena itu Yohanes mengingatkan: “Hasilkanlah buah yang sesuai dengan pertobatan.” (Mat 3:8)
Damai harus nyata: dalam kata yang menyejukkan, sikap yang mempersatukan, dan tindakan yang menopang sesama. Hati yang berdamai dengan Tuhan akan memancarkan Damai Kristus bagi keluarga & komunitas. Pax Christi — Damai Kristus menyertai kita.
On this Second Sunday of Advent, we light the Peace Candle — a sign that Jesus comes to calm every turmoil within us. John the Baptist cries out with urgency: “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near!” (Mt 3:2) True peace is not the absence of troubles, but the presence of a renewed heart aligned with God. That is why John reminds us: “Bear fruit worthy of repentance.” (Mt 3:8)
Peace must be visible: in words that heal, attitudes that unite, and actions that support one another. A heart reconciled with God will radiate the Peace of Christ to family and community. Pax Christi — May the Peace of Christ dwell among us.
